New Directions for the New Year

After surviving a busy, hectic holiday season, it’s easy to justify kicking back a little, but be careful how you choose to spend your time! Add an Arctic air mass, blizzard warnings and single degree temperatures into the mix and you might find your well deserved couple days of relaxation turn into a longer stretch of pure laziness and inactivity.

2014 is here — and for me that means developing new ideas, starting new paintings, sculptures, and projects, and establishing a road map to follow throughout the year.

I’ve been kicking around the idea of starting work on a Silent Mylo Tuxedo Cat book; and after being locked in a snowbound house with the beast for the past week he has convinced me that the time is NOW!

Working with Finicky Models (a.k.a. Cats)

Anyone familiar with my work knows that my imagery is bright, colorful, fun and, often times, covered in cat hair!  Much of my work features our feline friends and I’ve decide to take a closer look at the relationships I’ve developed with my models over the years. They claim they’re over worked and underpaid, but they do tend to exaggerate. Here’s a picture of the creature who started it all: Chester.
